Hi all,
We found out today that they are just beginning the investigation into Julia's file and that it could be later next week before her pre-approval is issued. This was quite discouraging as we were hoping that it would be wrapping up sooner than that. After the pre-approval is issued, there is still 2 - 4 business days worth of stuff that needs to happen before we actually get her visa. That means it could still be a couple of weeks before we get to come home.
We are doing OK. The weather has been nice, so we have just been enjoying time outside and saving our tourist things for cloudy days. But all that being said, we want to receive word soon that we can go home.
Well, again, Julia is telling me that she is done here in the business center, so I will sign off.
Thanks for checking in,
Barbie

I'm so sorry to hear about more delays. Hang in there.
We started school yesterday. It was super cold in the building. At LHS there is an ancient furnace that didn't get turned on from after break until around 8 am yesterday. It takes several hours for it to really start sending heat throughout the building. Brr. We Southern Illinoisans are weenies about being cold. Or maybe it's just me. :)
All our love and wishes for speedy bureaucracy,

Barbie and Julia,
I was sorry to hear about the paperwork delays...we're thinking about you.
School starts back for my brood this coming Monday. I'm ready for it. Life is just easier with the kids sometimes with a more rigid schedule. Two weeks off from work has been kind of rough too. (in the pocketbook!)...although greatly needed and enjoyed.
Kiss Julia for me and tell her to give you a hug from me. Take care and we'll pray for fast movement on the preapproval.
Cindy
barbie,
you keep us all well informed with your day-to-day goings on, so i'll tell you about my new day-to-day goings on.
you may have heard, but i got a teaching job in chatham, IL, close to cindy and ron's starting tomorrow, january the 7th. cindy and ron have been kind enough to let me stay with them until i get a place, or they get sick of me, which ever comes first.
this whole event of applying and being hired happened in about 5 days, so it was very quick, and that has made it a little hard for me to realize that i'm going to be teaching.
in any case, i also have just seen the school this friday, and we start on monday. i'm not quite sure what i'm doing, where i'm starting or where i'm going, so maybe with that i can relate to your situation about 1%.
that all being said, that's what's new with me, and i hope you and julia return soon!
miss you, and it must be me and annie that are weenies, cause i think it's freezing here too!
love, ruth
