Happy New Year!
We are doing well on this side of the world. It was a beautiful sunny day yesterday and today looks like it will be the same. We spent the morning walking around enjoying the weather.

We watched some of the Rose Bowl game this morning (Weds.) so we could see Doug's beloved Illini. When we heard that they were going to the Rose Bowl, I was really thinking that we would all be home, so it was bittersweet to see the game here.
Well, Julia has had enough.

It is also bitter that the Illini lost...oh well.
I still enjoy your blogs, no matter how short. It is always good to see a new post. I am so proud of you and your steadfast spirit. I pray that your strength remains strong and your spirit high as you "wrap up" what hopefully will only be a few more short and blissful days in Vietnam. Keep the faith!

Hey Barbie and Julia,
I guess we missed Doug, Thomas, and Helen by only an hour or so at LAX. We got home this afternoon from our California adventures. It was a good time, and now we're catching up with the kids and gearing up to start the second semester tomorrow.
Sigh...if only things on your end could go as smoothly.
