Hi all,
Not much new to report today, so I will just fill you in on some misc. details of our life here. Everyone got a good night's sleep last night, so that was helpful. The Museum that we went to today was filled with artifacts, craftsmanship type things, typical houses, etc of the various people groups of Vietnam. It was not a big hit with the under 6 crowd though. One of the exhibits showed a bike loaded down (and I mean loaded down) with fishing trap baskets. Apparently, up until recently, there a was man from a village around here who sold these baskets for a living and apparently, he could hold up to 800 baskets on his bike. There was a picture of him doing it. Now, if I saw this in real life, it would beat any other scooter feat that we encountered from here on out. I also realized that if that was how I had to make my living, I would definitely be broke (and injured)!
We are figuring out that it must be wedding season here. Yesterday at the temple, we saw at least two couples be photographed and today at the Museum there were at least 6. I think that there have been 5 weddings here at the hotel since we arrived. It must not matter what day of the week or time of the day that you have a wedding, because they have been throughout the week and even in the middle of the day on a weekday. They are fun to come across, everyone looks so beautiful and the gowns are amazing.
A breakfast buffet is provided here at the hotel. Breakfast buffets are a little different here. There is bread and fruit, juice, and even eggs if you would like. Then there is also pho (the Vietnamese soup that everyone eats for breakfast), spring rolls, stir fry, noodle dishes, tempura fried veggies, cake, and yesterday they even had french fries (to the kids' delight). Keep in mind that the buffet ends at 8:30 and is not usually replenished after 8:00, so we are eating this for breakfast around 7:30 in the morning. My stomach doesn't quite know what to make of this non Raisin Bran meal.
This afternoon we are going to get some traditional Vietnamese clothing made for the kids. We have heard that it is quite inexpensive to get them custom made - we shall see. We have been pleasantly surprised at how inexpensive things are here. I think that most of the things that we have done this week cost us less than $10 for our whole family. That is convenient, since it is nice to have things to do and see. I think that a circus is on the agenda for tomorrow.
We hope you are doing well. Thanks for checking in.

Hello all!
Here's an entry for "A Saturday in Lawrenceville". This morning Owen (which meant me too) and the rest of his Cub Scout pack walked in the town Christmas parade. While we are being spared most of the bad weather hitting the Midwest today, it was still a breezy and cold 30 degree walk through town. Owen had lots of fun and even remembered to save some candy to throw at his sister. After the parade we bought a Christmas tree and will be doing some decorating this afternoon.
We miss you all and love hearing from you so frequently. Please give everyone our best and we hope you're home for Christmas!

So good to hear that sleep is going better. If you can sleep then life is a lot easier to cope with. I was very disapointed that we missed you last nite. We were at our office Christmas party when you were trying to get ahold of us. We are still praying for a quick return of the visa!
Love to everyone!
